The Birdman trailer is out, and fans who got to see actor Michael Keaton play Batman a lifetime ago will get to see the actor play a character named Riggan Thomson, who used to be famous for playing a superhero. To say that Keaton could have drawn from his experiences playing the caped crusader would not be a stretch. And it's intriguing to see how much of this comes into play in this movie.

The full title of the movie Birdman, Or The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance revolves around Keaton's character, as he tries to pull his life together after the success of his most iconic role has died down with the years. He is now currently trying to stage a play -- in a last ditch effort to salvage his once flourishing career.

It will be recalled that Michael Keaton actually starred in two Batman films by director Tim Burton -- Batman and Batman Returns. The two movies were quite successful and it afforded the actor his choice of roles since then. But no other role were quite as iconic as when he donned the black mask and cape.

The movie is directed by Babel's Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, and it will be his first one since helming Bitiful in 2010. What's interesting about the movie, according to Hitflix, is that cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki worked with the director to make the entire film look like it has been made in one continuous shot from start to finish.

In the Birdman trailer we get to see some of the wonderful stars who are also in this movie, including Zach Galifianakis, Andrea Riseborough, Emma Stone, Naomi Watts and Edward Norton. And from the looks of the superb acting and intriguing storyline, this could really be Michael Keaton's comeback film.

Birdman opens in theaters on October 17.
