Franco Colbert interview at "The Colbert Report" went viral, after James Franco took a swing at making Stephen Colbert break character. Colbert, being an expert in keeping his character, was obviously initially flustered, but was quick to react and showed Franco who was running the show. At least Franco tried via the popular Franco Colbert exchange.

The actor of "This is the End" made a guest appearance on Colbert's show to talk about his fresh film adaptation of "Child of God," originally by Cormac McCarthy. Although their conversation about the flick was smooth, things got a bit awkward when Colbert attempted to cut to commercial.

Franco said, with a huge grin on his face, "I will see you on the new show. Now, are you gonna go Democrat when you go to this new show?" This Franco Colbert conversation is actually in reference to Colbert's new gig, as he has been reportedly selected to be the new host of the "Late Show" after David Letterman finally retires in 2015. Franco's question was basically something that many people wanted to know, but it looks like Colbert has decided to keep mum about the matter.

Since the Franco Colbert hilariously epic exchange was initiated out of the blue, Colbert was caught off-guard. However, he immediately lashed back and said, "Now, here's the interesting thing. I don't know what the f*ck you're talking about."

Rush Limbaugh, Conservative commentator, has actually given his two cents on the subject at hand and said, "CBS has just declared war on the heartland of America." Limbaugh was referring to the fact that Colbert has been named as Letterman's successor.

Back in April, Les Moonves, CBS CEO, has stated, "The character that he's currently doing on Comedy Central will end by the end of the year at Comedy Central and then he will come back on CBS as Stephen Colbert. Those of us who know him know that he is multitalented and can go way beyond the character that he is currently playing. And, we're looking forward to that."
