Moto 360 Watch Price, Release Date: Motorola's smartwatch is scheduled to be the third Android Wear timepiece in the US this summer. According to Tech Radar, the release schedule has been trailing behind the LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live that have been available since July 7. While waiting for the only android watch with circular screen, rumors suggest that another round wearable gadget is in the making.
After the debut of the OnePlus One smartphone, the company is allegedly close to launching its first smartwatch to be named as OneWatch. According to BGR, they have received a detailed sketch of how the wearable will look like.
Reportedly, the OneWatch follows Moto 360's round form. It allegedly has a crown or dial for controlling some of its functions. Just like Motorola's wearable gadget, it is said to utilize Qi charging method. Unlike the photos that have been released by Motorola which reveal the rear of the watch that features a strange purple backing speculated to be used for charging, the leather strap is said to house a curved battery for the OneWatch.
Just like the Moto 360, it is said to have an OLED display protected by Sapphire glass, and the watch face is surrounded titanium borders. Reportedly, OLEDs consume as much as 40% less power when displaying black images because they can turn off individual pixels. It is not yet reported if the OneWatch will have a custom-made OLED display with mostly black watch face screensaver that will help to reduce battery life consumption like that of the Moto 360.
Motorola confirmed that the Moto 360 will run with Google's Android Wear OS and is compatible with all Android 4.3 and Android 4.4 phones. BGR noted that OnePlus could either go for Google's Android Wear or go with its own UI on top of Android.
Since OnePlus One combined high-end specifications and low price, it is anticipated that the so-called OneWatch will follow its path.
Hopefully, Moto 360 comes out of the market before the launch of this alleged new smartwatch.
