After Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo recently clarified reports that have prematurely named him as the rapper's first client, another soccer star is speaking up.
According to TMZ, Manchester United soccer player Ashley Young has spoken to them recently about Lil Wayne sports management. The soccer star was with his team in the United States.
With all the news about Lil Wayne sports management, reporters of the entertainment site asked the winger if he thinks mixing soccer and hip hop is a good thing.
Ashley Young mumbled his answer before replying, with a cheeky smile: "It can't be a bad thing".
TMZ then asked the Manchester United star if he is a fan of Young Money, the brand that Lil Wayne is CEO of and has founded hip-hop superstars such as Drake and Nicki Minaj. Ashley Young simply replied, "of course".
Lil Wayne's sports management venture gained ground after deal rumors about signing soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo started circulating.
According to an article from MTV, the Portugese sports star took to Twitter his official statement about being represented by the rapper's upcoming Sports Management Company.
Crtisiano Ronaldo tweeted about the Lil Wayne association last July 27, saying: "There have been news about changes on my management team - it's all false, and I can assure the team is - and will be - the same."
The Cristiano Ronaldo and Lil Wayne rumors began following the success of the World Cup this summer, which has bought football a huge burst of popularity in the United States. The World Cup frenzy generated record TV ratings throughout the tournament.
A previous report from Daily Mail even said Cristiano will not be leaving his current management, but will simply have Lil Wayne responsible for his deals in the United States. The report added that Cristiano is "looking to market himself more in America".
