Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin seem to be the closest exes. After announcing their split earlier this year, the pair is spotted enjoying each other's company in several different occasions. Rumors suggest that the two are trying to get back together so that Coldplay frontman explained their current relationship status as he appeared on "On Air With Ryan Seacrest."
"I'm not the best interviewee on this kind of thing, but we're friends and proud parents," Martin told Ryan Seacrest. "There's lots of love, and that's it."
According to E! News, Martin's statement is a reiteration of what he said last week when asked with the same question about his relationship with Paltrow.
"The truth is...well, I don't really love talking about this stuff," Martin said on the Valentine in the Morning radio show Friday. "But the thing we told everyone at the beginning of the year is true. We are very close. We are not together. But we're, you know, that's the truth and that's it."
The couple made it clear when they announced they were splitting that they were doing so in good terms.
"We have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate. We are, however, and always will be a family, and in many ways we are closer than we have ever been," Martin and Paltrow said in their joint statement on Goop.
Early July, E! News reported that Martin shared about his life and his revelation in an interview with BBC Radio that he ditched vegetarianism after his break up with Gwyneth Paltrow.
"I am not really vegetarian," says Martin. "I eat meat. I was vegetarian for a long time but, for various reasons, I changed."
"You can choose your paths in life, I find, when you get to a point where you're like, 'I could either jump off a bridge or I could try and turn this around,'" he said. "I'm sure lots of people have that in much harder instances. You just find the right tools."
Paltrow and Martin married in December 2003, and have two children - Apple, 10, and Moses, 8.
