A new one-year contracts was signed by Brentford boss Mark Warburton, assistant manager David Weir and the sporting director of the club Frank McParland at Griffin Park.

The club will be preparing for its first season in the second tier of English football in 21 years and this news of contract-signing will boost the Brentford supporters and will also serve as buffer for the club.

Since early 2011, Warburton has been at Brentford starting as the interim first-team coach and sporting director. He replaced Uwe Rosler, the German coach, in December 2013 after he (Rosler) left for Wigan and led the Bees to second place in Sky Bet League 1.

McParland, who had previously been Liverpool's director of academy and head of player development, filled his old post as Warburton ascends and takes over the manager's role.

For a short time last season, Weir used to be the boss at the Sheffield United when he arrived in west London. Weir was also the former Scotland defender.

"The past few months have been brilliant for everyone connected with the club." Brentford chairman Cliff Crown said.

"To earn promotion to the Championship was always the aim and to do so in the style we did, breaking points records, winning 19 homes games out of 23 and doing it with games to spare was exhilarating."

"I am delighted we have secured the futures of Frank, Mark, and David."

Crown added that when the trio joined forces about six months ago, the club has made and still making a great progress. The three have built the foundations of the club and are now looking to crystallize their place in a higher division.

As of today, Brentford Football Club is now a Championship club continuing to develop on the field and with a new stadium on the horizon, according to the club chairman.

"Almost 5,000 supporters have already bought season tickets and I know that number will rise.

"I am sure all Brentford fans will see that everyone connected with the club is united and moving in the same direction and, like me, will be very happy that we have secured three key men to help lead us in to the challenges ahead."
