Wayne Rooney said that he is happy under his new manager. He said that he has enjoyed the First few weeks of Louis van Gaal reign as Manchester United manager. Rooney expressed his genuine delight with the role he has been asked to play under van Gaal while United was preparing in Michigan to face Real Madrid on Saturday.

Van Gaal has used a 3-5-2 formation, using wingbacks against LA Galaxy, Roma and Inter Milan since the take over at Old Trafford.

Rooney has been able to net four times in three games on their pre-season trip in the United Sttate. According to him, the manager has come in and now they are playing a different system. "It's been great, even at my age, to learn a new system and try to get better with the team. We have to and, over the next few weeks, I am sure we will do."

The 28-year-old athlete said that he has enjoyed the role that he has played so far. "The close you are to the goal, the more chance you have of scoring."

Manchester United is now looking forward for their match against La Liga giants and the reigning European champions-Real Madrid. Rooney added that the team of course would want to win the game and end the group as leaders.

The team has an ever-expanding fan base and supporters counting around 110,000 as of now. For the players, the match will surely be a great spectacle as well as a buffer of experience in their careers.

Moreover, there are concerns being raised regarding the newly laid playing surface at the Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor where the two teams will play-off. According to Rooney, the pitch is very soft and the ball does not roll as well as you would like it to. To put it bluntly, van Gaal said that it's a bad pitch with the ball not rolling properly.

There is nothing the teams can do about the matter but to adapt to the conditions as best as they can. Hopefully, these concerns will not hinder the players from playing a good game nevertheless.
