Paul George was injured during the scrimmage between players for Team USA, but he hopes that his trajectory will follow that of Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant. Meanwhile, Team USA's Coach K said that the "Black Mamba" was born to win titles.

Paul George injury was one of the worst among NBA players after he completely broke his leg. According to CBS Sports, he's likely going to miss the whole 2014-2015 season.

Brian Windhorst of ESPN meanwhile tweeted that despite Paul George's injury, "Pacers got some good news: surgery on Paul George's leg revealed no ancillary damage and that will greatly help recovery, source said."

Before Paul George was injured, however, he talked to Marc J. Spears of Yahoo Sports regarding the loss of Lance Stephenson who signed with the Washington Wizards via free agency.

"Coming into next season I need to be in the 25-30-point mark. I got to get back to that old Kobe, T-Mac, 25-shots-a-night kind of guy," he said.

But the Lakers Nation blog said following in the footsteps of Kobe Bryant where he shot 25 times a game is a tall order, considering that the Black Mamba had without help during the 2005-2006 season and that year he averaged 35.4 points a game. He also scored 81 points that year.

Meanwhile, Team USA's Coach K spoke to Jim Rome of CBS where he weighed in on Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers.

"I do think they made some great additions, adding boozer will certainly help. Personally I think Kobe will have an outstanding year, I hope he has enough pieces to make the playoffs, he's not in it just to play, to break records of how many points scored, he wants to win championships, that's what he was placed on earth to do and he's done it, and he wants more," he said.
