Radamel Falcao along with his Monaco teammates celebrate as they have defeated Arsenal 1-0 in the final match during the Emirates Cup at the home of the Premier League club.
Falcao was given the wide opportunity in the 37th minute of the Arsenal penalty area to head home Joao Moutinho's free-kick, thus gifting Monaco the only goal of the game.
Arsenal had needed only a draw to be able to claim the Emirates Cup, but it was unfortunately bagged by Valencia who defeated Benfica 3-1 in a match earlier that day.
Alex Sanchez, a summer signee, started the game and played on both flanks and then through the middle in the second period before being pulled out in the 74th minute.
Arsenal struggled against the Ligue 1 outfit despite having won 5-1 against Benefica 24 hours earlier.
Recovering from a serious knee injury in January, Falcao opened the scoring as he converted a free header from the edge of the six-yard box eight minutes before the breal.
Sanchez was on the edge for the opening 45 minutes and was moved into a central role when Olivier Giroud was benched at the break by midfielder Alex Oxlande-Chamberlain.
In the Arsenal defense, the newly-signed players Mathieu Debuchy and Calum Chambers were placed at the starting. Chambers was later replaced at half-time by Ignasi Miquel.
Valencia ended the tournament on nine points after coming from behind to beat Benfica 3-1 in Sunday's early kick-off.
