Nate Diaz's next fight has remained uncertain as the younger Diaz brother refused to be in communication with the UFC. The fighter's manager Mike Kogan also accused company president Dana White of holding grudges.
Kogan spoke with Submission Radio regarding Nate Diaz's next fight and his fighter's current business relationship status with the UFC.
"No, right now nobody's talking to anybody," Kogan explained. "I mean, Dana made it very clear that Nate should be happy with what he has and he doesn't see any reason to even discuss it, he's not really as popular as I guess we believe he is, and that was that, we just kind of stopped there."
"So right now no, nobody's talking to anybody," he added.
Unlike his elder brother Nick who has already mended his ties with the UFC by signing a new three-fight deal, Nate Diaz has remained adamant about his stance with regards to his employers.
The former number one lightweight contender last saw action in November 2013 against Gray Maynard at The Ultimate Fighter 18 Finale wherein he won via first round knockout and Knockout of the Night honors.
Since then, he has refused any further dealings with the company and has demanded for a higher salary. Subsequently, this has given UFC president Dana White more problems, but also criticized the younger Diaz brother for his demands.
"He doesn't pull the numbers in," White said in an interview with MMA Fighting in late-July. "Nick (Diaz) is a needle mover. Nick moves the needle. [Nate] doesn't pull good numbers."
White was referring to Nate Diaz's last aforementioned fight, which contrary to his own definition of "moving the needle", drew an impressive 1,129,000 viewers. Mike Kogan reiterated this point, as well as accusing the UFC executive of holding grudges.
"Dana said Nate had the lowest rated fight in FOX history which is not true, that was Demetrious Johnson," Kogan continued about Nate Diaz's next fight. "I don't hold grudges, it's whatever. Dana probably holds grudges, he probably doesn't really like me very much but what can I do? Nothing I can do about it."
