McKayla Maroney Olympic gymnast put an adorable and very graceful twist on her pitch at the Chicago White Sox-Minnesota Twins game on Aug. 2.
The Olympic gymnast and gold medalist, McKayla Maroney, 18, went all out with her moves as she cartwheeled her way at the US Cellular Field in Chicago. Watch the video here!
McKayla gave baseball fans a dose of some gymnastics then the 18-year-old stepped up to the pitcher's mound and threw a pitch no one had ever seen before. As she was about to make the pitch, she kicked up her leg gracefully, cartwheeled and then front flipped her before she threw the pitch!
She's is just adorable! We love her to bits. The sweet girl even tweeted, "loved meeting all my fans today !! thanks for coming out... hope you all had an amazing day xx." She also admitted on her Twitter account that she had a case of the nerves before her first pitch at a Chicago White Sox game on Friday night.
McKayla is a member of the 2012 U.S. Women's gymnastics team at the Summer Olympics. She is currently training for the 2016 Summer Olympics. Maroney hasn't competed this year after her March knee surgery.
McKayla is one of the more popular gymnasts. She currently has more than 700,000 followers on Instagram. Most of her photos are random selfies where she gives off little smirks. In an interview with ESPN, she shared a few weird routines she goes through prior to tumbling on the floor, one of them including taking an ice bath to make her body feel more refreshed. "Then I always have coffee with a little cream and sugar. It's a superstitious thing," she said. "I'll also listen to music. The song choice depends on whether I need to get pumped up or calm down. Lately I've been loving Selena Gomez's new album, 'Stars Dance,' and the song 'Birthday,' which is really fun and poppy."
