It is no longer a secret that Samsung will be killing it before this year is over with the release of their high powered phones and phablets! But what units exactly?
First off, they will finally release the Samsung Galaxy Alpha, the first ever android-powered handset to get a metal body.
For the past couple of years, the Korean manufacturer has been stereotyped as cheap and even Apple fans for opting to use plastic in all of its phones, including flagships, which arguably make their phones less premium than others.
However, the Samsung Galaxy Alpha is considered a breakthrough phone for the Android phone maker, a huge leap that could be the beginning of a new lineup of Galaxy phones.
In a recent report by mobile hub, the Galaxy Alpha is set to rival the upcoming iPhone 6, particularly the 4.7-inch version.
However, it is important to note that the upcoming Samsung phone is not a flagship phone in terms of specs. The device will only get a 4.6-inch display, and it is also assumed it will get HD (1280 x 720) resolution.
According to a report by GSM Arena, the Samsung handset will also get some of the premium features of the Galaxy S5 which include the heart-rate monitor and fingerprint scanner.
Other rumored specs include a 32GB non-expandable storage, an Exynos chipset, and LTE support.
It might be a step behind the Samsung Galaxy S5, but experts says the Galaxy Alpha will still have its fair share of users considering that it will be the company's first ever smartphone made of metal. While the internal specs could have been better, it is still a decent first step for Samsung who is still exploring and finding out if it is feasible to have a metal body build for future smartphones.
In the report, the Samsung Galaxy Alpha is set for release tomorrow, a month before the company's new phablet would make its debut. While the previously tipped release date was on August 13, Samsung may have changed it to give it time to make an impact before being overshadowed by the Note 4.
