Paul Hartley, Dundee manager, is optimistic that his side can keep their pace and good form into their opening match of the Scottish Premiership season.
The team marked their place in the second round of the League Cup with a 4-0 win over Peterhead on Saturday. It was Simon Ferry, Greg Stewart, Peter MacDonald, and Luka Tankulic who dominated the scoresheet.
During the last season, the Championship winners begun with their rather lustrous and spectacular top-flight league campaign with a game against Kilmarnock on August 9. Hartley is poised in his powerful performance that also paved the way for the success of the team.
"I thought some of our play was excellent. I was really pleased with the players getting forward as much as possible," Hartley said.
"We've got a real attacking force about us. We want to try and be a creative team, with players getting forward as much as possible."
He said that the players they have would not want to play any other way like going direct; which is the reason why he has laid his aces to try and entertain. He also sees that the team's performance has so far been pretty impressive and hopefully it continues.
"They've made a lot of good signings. You could see them doing well this season so it was a bad time to get them." Peterhead manager Jim McInally, a former player-coach at Dens Park said.
"They're on a bit of a high but our season starts next week for real when we have to be ready for that."
