Fans of "Magic Mike" will surely get wild when they see Channing Tatum stripping in the sequel.
"Magic Mike 2" is slated to hit theaters on 2015. It will not be directed by Steven Soderbergh as he has put on a different hat for this movie. Gregory Jacobs, Soderberghs's assistant, will be directing the sequel.
Channing Tatum, who has confirmed reprising his role for "Magic Mike 2," is also co-writing the sequel with his writer/producer partner Reid Carolin. The actor has mentioned in several interviews that the plot of the movie can be likened to road trip movie, and that it will be "crazier" than the first movie.
In an interview he had with GQ, the stripping Channing revealed that he wanted to add his personal experience to the first film. He added that there was a stripper convention he went to back when he was still stripping, and he wanted to infuse that story into the movie.
However, Soderbergh encouraged him to use the plot for his own movie.
"We cut out so much stuff that was just really juicy, fun things to happen in a movie that you haven't seen before," Channing said.
"The women would come from miles and miles around. Then you lock the doors and you say all bets are off. It gets zany and crazy, and it's a wild ride," he added in reference to his stripper convention experience.
"Magic Mike 2" will reportedly have a lighter feel than the first one. As ET Online reports, the movie will "ditch the overly dark vibes from the original, and will instead feature a lot more hijinks, hilarious moments, and plenty of laughs."
"Magic Mike 2" is slated for a July 3, 2015 release.
