"Snow White and the Huntsman 2" is a prequel, and Kristen Stewart won't have any part in it.
"Snow White and the Huntsman 2" follows on the tracks of the first film, which was a moderate success by blockbuster standards. Latest reports suggest the sequel is actually a prequel, though, and it's likely Kristen Stewart is axed from the cast.
The new movie has a confirmed title and release date. "The Huntsman" will revolve around the troubled backstory of Chris Hemsworth's character, involving a family murdered by malignant forces.
If there's any consolation from fans of the first movie, it's highly likely Charlize Theron will reprise her role as Raveena in the prequel. In contrast to previous reports that Kristen Stewart plays a minor role, the new title confirms she won't be back, even for an encore.
The production lineup is also overhauled from the first film, with "The Walking Dead" director Frank Darabont involved. Cutting Kristen Stewart and director Rupert Sanders from "Snow White and the Huntsman 2" seems deliberate, and will hopefully give the new movie a clean slate (cinemablend.com).
In related news, the scandal which rocked "Twilight" fans is coming out into the light, although in retrospect. Robert Pattison has finally opened up with comments, and the actor confirms he has finally moved on from it.
An interview with Esquire UK has Pattison mulling about the events and the aftermath:" S--t happens, you know? It's just young people ... it's normal! And honestly, who gives a s--t?"
"The hardest part was talking about it afterwards, because when you talk about other people, it affects them in ways you can't predict. It's like that scene in 'Doubt,' where he's talking about how to take back gossip? They throw all those feathers from a pillow into the sky and you've got to go and collect all the feathers." "Snow White and the Huntsman 2" (minus Kristen Stewart) comes out in theaters April 2016.
