Mariah Carey fires manager Jermain Dupri after only months of working together. Although the pair had been friends and collaborating partners for a long time, Mimi only hired Dupri just a few months ago to handle her work affairs.

MTV News reports that the mother of two emancipated herself from her 'We Belong Together' and 'Always Be My Baby' collaborator for former Def Jam president Kevin Liles, who is currently managing Ty Dolla $ign and Trey Songz through his firm KWL Enterprises.

Although, nothing concrete has been confirmed regarding Carey and Liles' partnership, they have been working together since the June launching of Carey's Go N'Syde bottled drinks called 'Butterfly.'

According to Perez Hilton, the sudden decision to let go of Durpri had something to do with the dismal sales of Carey's latest album, 'Me. I Am Mariah...The Elusive Chanteuse.' It only sold 103,000 units since being released in May, MTV reports.

Dupri was there, however, when Carey's 2005 album, 'The Emancipation Of Mimi' went through the roof in sales.

The So So Def mogul doesn't seem to be overly affected by the axing, however. Billboard reported that no bad blood remained between him and the 'Beautiful' singer.

"I'm a very hands-on person when it comes to my work," Billboard reported Dupri as saying through a statement. "I put my all into every project. But when I'm not allowed to do what I do, then I know it's time for me to move on."

Despite the sudden decision, Dupri still wishes the songstress luck and promises to work with her in her future music ventures.

"Mariah and I enjoy working together and will continue to make great music together in the future," he added.

Hopefully, the 'Hero' singer would still seek the music producer's help in writing songs for her next album. After all, Dupri did give her such iconic songs in the past.
