The Google Nexus 8 release date has been revealed as well as its specs and features.
The much anticipated Google Nexus 8 release date has been confirmed and it is going to be launched at September 20, 2014 according to Google in a report by Cyberland.
Android Pit reports that the Google Nexus 8 will feature a 64-bit processor following Apple's lead with the iPhone 5s. It has been reported that Google will ditch Qualcomm and its reliable Snapdragon chips for Intel's Moorefield which is clocked at 2.33GHz and features a PowerVR G6430 GPU.
According to KnowYourMobile, The Google Nexus 8 will have a larger, 8.9-inch display with a resolution of 2048 x 1440 pixels instead of a 1920×1200 resolution display on last year's model. It will feature an 8MP main camera and a 3MP front facing camera and run on the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system. The website also claims it would sport a thinner, sleeker body and will be available in 16GB and 32GB storage options.
PC adviser has reported that:
"With the device being larger than the Nexus 7 - which sells for £299 - and with improved specifications, we would expect it to cost a little more. However, Google doesn't make its money from profit margins on hardware and will likely want to undercut its rivals."
"The import-export database excerpt posted by GSMInsider suggests a value of INR$16,484, which is around $275 in USD or £160."
