Rumor has it that actor Vince Vaughn is currently in talks to join the cast of HBO's "True Detective" this coming season 2.
As of late, the "Wedding Crashers" actor is still in the early stages of discussion but a deal will most likely be made soon since production is scheduled to kick off next month, according to Variety.
Other than Vaughn, "Horrible Bosses" star Colin Farrell and former "Friday Night Lights" star Taylor Kitsch are also being tapped to join the cast of the hit series, the same publication noted.
Vaughn, who has been very vocal about his desire to join the show for quite some time now, still does not have a specific role assigned to him because "True Detective" creator Nic Pizzolatto is still working on the scripts for the coming season.
HBO is also currently on the lookout for the best female actress to join the cast and are eyeing actress Elisabeth Moss for a remarkable role this coming season.
TV Line has previously noted that Vaughn, who is best known for his roles in various comedy films, is actually pretty good when it comes to drama.
The actor has also starred in a range of thriller films including "The Risk Agent," "Gunslingers" and "Triple Time," Indie Wire reported.
Meanwhile, "True Detective," which wrapped up its first season in March, has been in search for possible newcomers to join its cast.
In the past, speculations of Brad Pitt and Jessica Chastain's inclusion in season 2 circulated online but such rumors were dismissed accordingly, the Huffington Post noted.
Vaughn's representative also spoke to the publication and stressed that as of late, no deal has been made yet. In a separate statement, a representative for HBO clarified that no final casting has been made just yet, according to the Huffington Post.
