First, we have Moto X +1; now we hear about the successors of Droid Maxx and Droid Mini?
EV Leaks, which has just retired from posting technology scoops, spilled two new devices from Motorola codenamed Abbagoochie and Valocia. The first one is allegedly a Droid Maxx replacement device, while the latter one is said to be the successor of the Droid Mini.
To keep track of Motorola's timeline last year, it is in July when they (alongside Verizon) announced the DROID Ultra, Maxx, and Mini, while Moto X came in a month later. So it is just the perfect time for the mobile company to introduce the successors of their DROID devices.
While no definite specs have been leaked yet, EV Leaks said that both devices will be powered by Qualcomm quad-core Snapdragon 801 processors. Android Headlines on the other hand, predicts that Maxx might come with a powerful 3500 mAh and Mini would probably sport a 4.5-inch display.
What could be the possible reason with the delay of DROID devices? Is Motorola focusing on the Moto X+1 device?
The new Moto X+1 (X2)allegedly has a 5.2" display rendering a 1080x1920p resolution. A 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor allegedly powers the device that comes with 2GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, microSD support, 12MP rear camera, a 5MP front-facing camera, and a powerful 2900mAh battery. Android 4.4.4 KitKat is its rumored OS as well.
Verizon will reportedly offer Moto X2 with Incipio casing, which is made of Plextonium polycarbonate shell with an inner core for contact absorption.
In addition, a YouTube video posted by TK Tech News reveals a mysterious Motorola phablet that appears to be running Android L. The device operates on Verizon network and is also shown with pre-installed Verizon apps; perhaps suggesting that the leak may have come from the network firm rather than someone from Motorola.
It has a display bigger than a 5-inch screen rendering a Full HD resolution. However, we're not really certain if this is the new Moto X+1 (X2) or a new Droid device set to come out this 2014. Back in October, a lot of speculations regarding a 6.3 inch phablet called XPlay came out and according to Phone Arena, a reliable source when it comes to Motorola leaks confirms that the company will be releasing its first ever phablet on the third quarter.
