Fresh from release by Chelsea, midfielder Frank Lampard met up with his new Manchester City teammates for the first time on Wednesday when he reported for training at Carrington.
The 36-year-old athlete joined the City on loan from New York with a contract that will last until January. He was captured by the Premier League champions who purchased the rights to the New York City franchise last year on May on loan less than two weeks after signing a two-year deal with the American team.
"Joining up with Manchester City is a fantastic opportunity for me to continue to train and play at the top level and make sure I am in top condition for New York City," the player told the club's website ahead of training with Manuel Pellegrini's squad.
For him, it has been quite an amazing few days since the unveiling in Brooklyn and everyone connected with both clubs has been fantastic. He added that this transfer is a new episode in his career that he is totally excited about given the experience that he will gain in the future.
Lampard met Manuel and some of the other players in New York. The athlete is very keen to getting into training with these players and with the club as a whole. His main goal is to make a significant impact and contribution for Manchester City ahead of his move over to New York.

However, this move was criticized by Arsene Wenger, Arsenal manager. He said that this move taken by the City is but a way to secure Lampard was only to go around and evade the football's Financial Fait Play ruled, which they fell afoul of last season.
