Olivia Wilde's breastfeeding picture with son Otis is on the September cover of Glamour magazine.
Olivia Wilde is breastfeeding in public, on the printed page at the very least. If anything, she's going with the trend for public breastfeeding, in similar fashion to celebrities and their baby bumps.
Glamour magazine's September issue will feature Wilde on the cover, nursing son Otis to boot. The photo is far from racy, though, and the actress aims to raise awareness for people who still feel awkward around moms breastfeeding their children in public places.
"Being shot with Otis is so perfect because any portrait of me right now isn't complete without my identity as a mother being a part of that. Breastfeeding is the most natural thing. I don't know, now it feels like Otis should always be on my breast. It felt like we were capturing that multifaceted woman we've been discussing - that we know we can be. You can be someone who is at once maternal and professional and sexy and self-possessed. [But] I mean, I certainly don't really look like that when I'm [typically] breastfeeding. And there's usually a diaper involved."
She is wife to Jason Sudeikis of TV's "Saturday Night Live," and gave birth to Otis in April. Olivia Wilde's breastfeeding photo shows another side to her, one that's apart from her usual image as a sexy cover girl.
In the Glamour interview, Wilde also muses about her relationship with filmmaker and ex-husband Tao Ruspoli; they divorced in October 2011.
"[I] wouldn't be this person without that first marriage. I really grew up with my first husband. Now I'm in a much wiser, more centered place in life. I think if we can see people in our lives as chapters, we have a much healthier perspective about the whole thing. It's like it had to happen the way it happened. Jason and I lived two blocks away from each other for years and never met."
Olivia Wilde's breastfeeding cover photo is out on Glamour magazine this August 12 (yahoo.com).
