Extant has finally aired on CBS.
This TV series starring Halle Berry and produced by Steven Spielberg will get an earlier finale schedule, according to reports.
Latest news from Post-Gazette, citing TheWrap.com reported that the TV series will air its Season 1 finale on Sept. 17 at 10 p.m., instead of the original date of the finale, Sept. 24.
So what will happen now is, CBS will air a 90-minute season premiere of the reality TV mainstay "Survivor" and a super-sized season finale of its other unscripted juggernaut, "Big Brother," starting at 8 p.m. on Sept. 24.
The plot of this story is about an astronaut (played by Berry) who returns from a 13-month mission in space. And when she lands here in Earth, she discovers that she's mysteriously pregnant.
Post-Gazette said that the TV series hasn't exactly been a ratings blockbuster since the day of premiering in early July. It was reported that the show gets a 1.7 rating in the 18-49 demographic most sought by advertisers. Third airing of the sci-fi drama had dropped to a 1.1 rating.
The network planned to shift the show's timeslot from Wednesdays at 9 p.m. to 10 p.m., hoping of goosing the show's ratings with a "Criminal Minds" lead-in. Sadly, the show failed to increase the ratings during its first night in the new slot.
