Rod Salka says he is the best 140 pound fighter

Rod Salka is off to face Danny Garcia this coming Saturday at the Barclays Center in New York. No title record will be involved in the fight but Salka is not interested on how the win may put in his career rather he is focusing on the task at hand.

He said "I don't care what that would do. I don't have any other expectations other than coming in there and winning the fight. Having any other thoughts about that only distracts from the goal and the goal is to ignore that and win the fight. So, come August 9 I'm coming to win."

According to Salka, it would be nice he can win a title but by beating Garcia alone, he will also be recognized for that. He said "It is what it is. There's nothing I can do about that. I'd of rathered it been for the titles, but what am I going to do?"

He added "I'm fighter the best fighter at 140 pounds in the world. Titles are what they are, but would I rather fight some guy nobody ever heard of for a title or would I rather fight some guy everybody knows who he is for no title? You know what I mean? Why wouldn't I want to fight Danny Garcia? He's the best we've got out there. It's the biggest fight you could possibly get at 140 pounds. I really don't care if I can put a belt on at the end of it. I can take my purse and go out and have a thousand of those made if I wanted to, what is that?"

For this fight, Salak is considered to be the underdog. But there has been rumors circulating that says that Garcia won over his last fight because he was close to the promoters. With regards to this, Garcia said "When I was the underdog against Khan and against Matthysse, I couldn't understand it."

A lot will be rooting from either both sides for different reason. Some will be rooting for Salka for being the underdog while others will be with Garcia being the fighter that rose from the ranks.
