Some The Raid 3 news were revealed recently and it seems that Michael Jai White and MMA fighter Cung Le could join the cast of The Raid 3!
Michael Jai White posted a pic of himself along with Cung Le and The Raid star, Rama himself, Iko Uwais and it sparked a lot of rumors that Michael Jai White and Cung Le may join the cast of The Raid 3. You can see the photo above.
Flashy Fists, a martial arts movie blog, has reported that Michael Jai White has attended a screening of the Raid 2: Berandal and has allegedly told Director Gareth Evans that he is interested in the project.
While this is just a rumor, fans have always wanted to have more well-known martial arts movie actors in the Raid and Michael Jai White is one of them.
One fan from IMDB "StarShipPayne" has noted:
"Michael Jai White is one dude that I want to see in the raid!! He's a real martial artist and he's got the acting chops to be in the movie. The dude is Bronze Tiger in Arrow and he was freakin' SPAWN!!!"
It really does seem that Michael Jai White is a nice choice to be in the Raid 3.
Fans clamoring for some The Raid 3 news will be excited for this as Tony Jaa has confirmed that he would appear on The Raid 3!
Gareth Evans previously stated that:
"Tony Jaa is a phenomenal talent. Ong Bak was a major announcement to the industry and to audiences that the martial arts genre was back. Of course there's been a fair amount of mud thrown around regarding the situation between artist and production company but that's not for us to know nor is it in any way something that takes anything away from his all round talents. With the right script, the right role and please God no elephants."
And that Tony Jaa appearing on The Raid 3 is not a sure thing yet but it seems that the situation has changed.
The Raid 3 news was reported by Indonesian newspaper, The Indo Chronicle where they have interviewed Tony Jaa and he said that he would be part of The Raid 3 and he's excited with working with Iko Uwais and Gareth Evans.
Tony Jaa said to The Indo Chronicle (translated) "I have seen The Raid and it is amazing! I'm so proud to part of the third movie. I have talked to Gareth Edwards and he has amazing things planned for it but the production would take a while but I am already excited to work with them."
He then talked about Iko Uwais:
"Iko Uwais is a great actor and fighter. We would have fun in (choreographing) the fight scenes for the movie".
Fans would wait for a few years for The Raid 3 though as Gareth Evans has confirmed that he would take a break from the franchise to focus on other projects but he assured fans that he would return to make the Raid 3 in 2-3 years.
