Actor Aamir Khan was recently bombarded with negative criticisms for allegedly posing nude on "PK's" official poster.

In the poster, Khan was photographed completely naked, with only a boombox covering his private parts. Critics claimed that the actor's photo was offensive but Khan stressed that it was merely "key art," according to The Hindu.

"When you will watch the film then only you will be able to understand the idea behind the poster. But I would just like to say that the kind of filmmaker, the kind of writer Rajkumar Harani is, he always tries to present the things, his thinking, in a unique way and that's why I am his huge fan," Khan explained during a recent interview.

Khan also referenced his recent "PK" poster to his previous production and directorial debut for the film "Taare Zameen Par."

"In the poster of Taare Zameen Par, the child actor, Darsheel Safary, is sitting in the front of the school bench and I am sitting behind him. So it is a kind of key art... the image that tells you much about the story and so is the poster of PK," he lamented.

Khan also clarified that the poster was not intended for mere publicity, rather, it is simply reflective of all the film's key elements, Times of India reported.

Following the poster's controversy, Khan, Harani and producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra were all accused of promoting nudity and vulgarity. A case has been filed against the three in court.

Still, the very positive actor is hopeful that things will be ironed out in time for "PK's" release this coming December, India Today noted.

"We are getting a mixed response from people. But I feel that when they will watch the film, their doubts will get cleared," the 49-year-old actor said on Wednesday.

Other celebrities involved in"PK," include Sanjay Dutt, Anushka Sharma and Sushant Singh Rajput.
