The official release date of Warner Bros. "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has been moved a month earlier, in order to avoid a simultaneous release with Marvel's "Captain America 3," a move that both film companies dubbed as ideal.

Warner Bros. has previously denied rumors that it will move the "Man of Steel" sequel from its original May 16, 2016 release date, but eventually decided to do otherwise, according to Independent.

"Captain America: The Winter Solider" director Joe Russo spoke with Digital Spy and said, "Everybody likes to imagine a flame war that'll start over this but it's not. It's two big movies on a date - neither studio is crazy enough to eat up each other's profits. At some point, somebody's going to move off the date."

Meanwhile, "Batman v Superman" suffered an untimely plot leak earlier this week that suggested that Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne will be around 50 years old, Times of India reported.

If such rumor was true, this would mean that Batman's character will be portrayed merely as an urban legend at the start of the film.

The film's creators have not yet confirmed nor denied such rumors but multiple sources confirmed that director Zack Snyder previously hinted on the possibility of casting a "crusty old Batman."

"Batman v Superman" were previously scheduled for release on May 6 but has been officially moved to May 25, 2015, according to Entertainment Wise's Inside Movies.

Actor Henry Cavill will reprise his role as Superman, alongside Gal Gadot who will play the role of Wonder Woman. Jesse Eisenberg will join the cast as villain Lex Luthor and Jeremy Irons will portray the character of Alfred, Independent reported.

The film's first official trailer has been released at last month's Comic-Con event and it featured an extensive conflict between the two superheroes.
