Fans can hardly wait for the last movie of The Hobbit franchise. They've been rewarded recently with the release of the teaser trailer for The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies. The full trailer for the movie won't be released until October, according to director Peter Jackson.
Right after the trailer comes out, The Hobbit fans can get their hands on the movie prior to the final installment in the franchise -- The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. The DVD of the movie will reportedly be released in November, and it has a great treat for avid fans of J.R.R. Tolkien's tales. A fully extended version of the movie is what is in store in the DVD version. This means an extended cut of approximately 25 more minutes of hte movie.
According to Yahoo Movies UK, one of the scenes that we get to enjoy is the sequence where Bilbo and the dwarves are crossing through Mirkwood. This features Bilbo and the dwarves getting trapped in the murky waters and its dark magic, as the forest grows dark. It will be recalled that Frodo, along with Samwise Gamgee and Gollum were similarly ensnared in the same kind of waters as they went through the Dead Marshes in The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers.
It's a delightful and exciting sequence, which is what characterized the first two Hobbit movies. In The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, Bilbo and his dwarf friends had more humorous situations certainly, as compared to their counterparts in The Lord of the Rings.
After all, the Dark Lord Sauron has not come to the heights of power that he had in The Lord of the Rings yet.
But fans better enjoy the lighthearted theme of these Hobbit movies, as the last movie is a decidedly more serious and somber one. If the just released trailer is any indication, The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies is going to be like The Return of the King.
