"Fifty Shades of Grey" cast Jamie Dornan has inked a deal in a new action-packed film, as co-star Dakota Johnson forbade her mother to watch the film.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Fifty Shades of Grey" cast Jamie Dornan will be involved as Commandant Pat Quinlan in "The Siege of Jadotville."
In a statement, the actor said: "I can't wait to get stuck into Jadotville. It's an unbelievable story and Commandant Pat Quinlan is going to be a treat of a character to tackle. I'm a big fan of both Richie Smyth and [producer] Alan Moloney and I'm very much looking forward to working with them both."
According to THR, "The Siege of Jadotville" chronicles the siege of 150 Irish UN troops in Conggo in 1961 by 3,000 local troops.
Meanwhile, "Fifty Shades of Grey" cast Dakota Johnson has banned her mother, Melanie Griffith, from watching the film. The 24-year-old model will next be seen in "A Bigger Splash" opposite Ralph Fiennes.
In its "Fifty Shades of Grey" news update, IndieWire asked Melanie Griffith if she's excited to see the film, but the "Body Double" star is not going.
"[Dakota] was like, 'You guys cannot come. There's no way.' So we're not going," she said.
However, she wasn't banned on the set and Melanie Griffith admitted to visiting her daughter during production.
"I did go visit for a couple of days when they were shooting just normal stuff. I did see the Room of Pain - I did go in there and check it out," she added.
Earlier "Fifty Shades of Grey" news reports also revealed that "Miami Vice" star Don Johnson also won't see the film, and it's not because of the sex scenes.
"I don't know whether it is (embarassing) or not, this is the family business. We portray characters and this is the character that Dakota is portraying. It's difficult for people to separate who we are from the characters we portray, but not for me," he said.
