Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin are really "not together." The Coldplay singer recently breaks his silence regarding his split with the "Glee" actress. According to the site Independent, Martin made "made veiled references to his marriage breakdown in a new interview on Thursday."
"There's a phrase, which was written by a singer Leonard Cohen, which is 'The crack is where the light comes in,'" Chris told America's Z100 radio host Elvis Duran.
"So, sometimes you have to go through something painful or breakage to see the beauty of things."
While the former power couple shows a very amicable relationship after announcing their split earlier this year from their 10-year marriage, Martin explained their current relationship status with Paltrow as he appeared on "On Air With Ryan Seacrest."
"I'm not the best interviewee on this kind of thing, but we're friends and proud parents," Martin told Ryan Seacrest. "There's lots of love, and that's it."
Back in June, People Magazine reported that the couple appears to consider getting back together. Reportedly, a friend of the couple is agreeing with the possibility.
"They haven't made any concrete decision to get back together yet, but clearly it's a possibility. At this point, some of the pressure was just taken off them - pressure they put on themselves to "make it work," says a friend of the couple.
However, according to E! News, Martin has clarified that they are not together.
"The truth is...well, I don't really love talking about this stuff," Martin said on the Valentine in the Morning radio show Friday. "But the thing we told everyone at the beginning of the year is true. We are very close. We are not together. But we're, you know, that's the truth and that's it."
Paltrow and Martin made it clear when they announced they were splitting that they were doing so in good terms. The two married in December 2003, and have two children - Apple, 10, and Moses, 8.
