Barbra Streisand Instagram debut was received by fans of the iconic singer and actress, said a report from Daily Mail. The 72-year-old superstar joined the photo sharing site on August 7, Wednesday, with her first two photos featuring her dog and a plate of cupcakes.

Prior to Barbra Streisand joining Instagram, she has been in Twitter since 2009.

Barbra Streisand's first Instagram post showed her lounging in a wicker chair wearing a black blazer, white button-down shirt with a big black bow on her neck, and black high heels. She was with her pet dog, Samantha.

The photo caption read: "Hello Instagram... Isn't my Samantha just precious?"

According to Daily Mail, Barbra Streisand couldn't stop talking about her beloved dog while promoting the film "The Guilt Trip".

During an interview with The Independent, the "Funny Girl" actress described her pet Samantha. "She's the most beautiful thing you've ever seen. She speaks English. She understands English, I swear to God," she shared.

"She'll come up to me and go "mmm." It sounds like a baby. That means she wants water. Or she'll just look at me with those eyes and then she wants a treat," she added.

"My dog is like the daughter I never had,"' Streisand told The Independent.

Other than Barbra Streisand's Instagram photo of the singer and her dog, the two-time Oscar winner posted a photo of cupcakes in a plate. The caption read: "Cupcakes...not on my diet...and too pretty to eat"

Barbra Streisand is married to actor James Brolin - who is known for his role in "Marcus Welby, M.D". and "Catch Me If You Can". He and Barbra Steisand reportedly never leave their dog alone.

Prior to Barbra Streisand Instagram news, the star visited Washington in June to raise awareness for women's heart disease. She founded the Barbra Streisand Women's Heart Center at Ceders-Sinai in Los Angeles in 2012.
