Daniel Radcliffe Naked: ‘What If’ Actor Took His Clothes Off For Rom-Com Movie And Two Other Films! Reveals He Wants To “Surprise People”

Most famously known for his mainly PG-rated role as 'Harry Potter' in the franchise's eight films, fans who saw Daniel Radcliffe naked in his first stage play, 'Equus,' were more than a little stupefied at the bold scene.

He wanted to lose the 'Harry Potter' image so much so he decided to do it 'the absolute unexpected' way. The 25-year-old world star stood "completely naked for about ten minutes" on stage at the age of 17.

"You are standing on a stage thinking, 'Oh my God, I'm naked. They are all looking at my bits,'" he told the Daily Mail in an interview. "They are in the audience thinking: 'Oh my God he's naked. Look at his bits.'"

For many people, having to stand in front of a crowd completely naked could be absolutely humiliating but Radcliffe had to "voluntarily" do it "again and again and again" for 'Equus.' The ordeal, however, only served to free the actor.

"I think getting naked on a stage gets rid of all your inhibitions," the 'Woman In Black' actor revealed.

He has since continued to strip off his clothes in several projects, including his upcoming romantic comedy film, 'What If.'

"I did three films last year and I got naked in all of them," the former child star said without any hesitancy. Two other films saw Daniel Radcliffe naked: 'Horns' (which will hit US theaters on Halloween) and 'Kill Your Darlings.'

Speaking to E! News, Radcliffe revealed that taking his clothes off for 'What If' was "the nicest nude scene I've ever done. And that is quite a substantial list at this point."

The scene was reportedly a "nice" skinny-dipping scene and it turned out to be "kind of fun."

When asked whether he feels conscious taking his clothes off, the actor admitted that he's decided to start working out "so the whole thing about hating how you look doesn't become an issue."

He also reveals that getting naked for films and plays made people look at him in a different way.

"I don't know if I actually connected those thoughts," he continued to tell Daily Mail. "But I wanted to make choices that would surprise people and I wanted to be good."

Will fans see Daniel Radcliffe naked again in future films?

The British superstar admits that "there's nothing like doing a nude scene to put yourself under pressure. But honestly, it might look like I do but I don't go round insisting that nudity clauses have to be put in my contract-I just happen to be getting it out a lot at the moment."
