'Sherlock' isn't the only Benedict Cumberbatch show fans are looking forward to next year.

Before 'Sherlock's' Christmas special, the 'Hobbit' star will take on William Shakespeare's tragic Danish prince at London's Barbican theatre from late August to early October next year.

The star's followers stormed Viagogo to book tickets just to see Benedict Cumberbatch as Hamlet in 2015. Eager fans started queuing for the passes, which were being sold at 30 British pounds per ticket, at 10AM London time. At 1:30PM, more than 30,000 people were queuing. By 5:30 PM, the website had declared that all the tickets were sold out.

By the end of the day, Viagogo was already selling the play's October 31 ticket at £350 (about $587). Searches for 'Hamlet' also jumped 412% within hours, according to the ticketing website.

The website also went on to declare that this feat outpaced sales for the highly anticipated Jay Z and Beyonce 'On The Run' Tour by 214%!

"Cumberbatch's Hamlet has stolen the title of the most in-demand theatre show of all time, with ticket searches going through the roof," a Viagogo spokesperson said in a statement.

As the chance to see Benedict Cumberbatch play Hamlet, get dimmer every second, fans who were waiting in line took to Twitter to express their depression.

"Good Lord! Number of users in queue ahead of you: 34,324," one fan tweeted.

"Excuse me while I go cry for the rest of my life since there is no chance of me seeing Benedict Cumberbatch as Hamlet," The Standard reports another Twitter user, Kayla Ramos, as saying.

There is still hope for the broken-hearted. The website has reserved 100 tickets for each performance at £10 per person. The 'Hamlet' production will start on August 5 until October 31, 2015.

With this development, it looks like Benedict Cumberbatch as Hamlet just turned into the hottest thing on theatre.
