The infamous Avenger 2 Age Of Ultron nemesis Loki played by Tom Hiddleston is one of the most loveable villains around. It helps that the actor is quite good looking, talented, and very, very good at this role as the sinister and smooth villain.
Talent such as his is hard to ignore in Hollywood, and other roles have come knocking for the 33-year-old actor, and a couple of Tom Hiddleston movies are actually in production as of right now.
One of the most juicy roles that have come calling recently is the remake of the classic Ben-Hur for this generation of moviegoers.
MGM studios is reportedly calling on Tom Hiddleston to reincarnate the classic movie starring Charlton Heston. Ben-Hur is a 1959 film that had the biggest budget of its time at $15.175 million, and it had a gloriously large set, with hundreds of workers and staff working on sets, props, and costumes. It went on to become the fastest and highest grossing film of 1959, and it bagged a record 11 awards at the Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor for Charlton Heston, and Best Supporting Actor for Hugh Griffith.
According to Deadline, MGM wants Tom Hiddleston to reprise the role made famous by Heston, the galley slave who became a champion gladiator and charioteer. According to reports, this new version of the epic movie will be more faithful to the novel on which it is based on "Ben-Hur: A Tale Of The Christ."
This possible new Tom Hiddleston movie will be penned by John Ridley, who most recently bagged an Academy Award for his work on the script of 12 Years A Slave.
Hiddleston as of now is yet to decide on whether he is keen to ride a chariot for his next movie. He is deciding whether to take on Ben-Hur or the movie Me Before You, which is based on a novel by Jojo Moyes. The movie is more modest in comparison, and revolves around a man who has become very successful in life but is derailed by an accident and relegated to a wheelchair.
Will Avengers 2 Age Of Ultron star Tom Hiddleston take on a potential moviestar making role like Ben Hur or go for a small, dramatic film? Stay tuned to find out.
