Sony confirms the new Silent Hill game 2014, and Norman Reedus of "The Walking Dead" is in it.

The much-anticipated Silent Hill game 2014 is confirmed with a teaser, which looks even more promising with Norman Reedus playing the lead character.

The latest installment in the Silent Hill franchise is headed by industry heavyweights; Hideo Kojima of the (mostly) successful Metal Gear franchise, and Guillermo del Toro, director of acclaimed and blockbuster films "Pan's Labyrinth" and "Hellboy," in that order.

Sony's initial tease to the new Silent Hill game was "P.T." a playable demo for an undisclosed horror game, from an apparently unknown developer (7780s Studio). Participants were forewarned to "Avoid playing if you have a heart condition."

The end of the playable demo (available at the PlayStation's online store) reveals a new Silent Hill game 2014. Sony drops the bomb with a full tease of the plot and one of the characters, with perfect semblance to the Darryl's character in "The Walking Dead," played by Norman Reedus.

The new Silent Hill game will be released on the PlayStation 4, and the installment comes with a mysterious twist. Previous games retained the "Silent Hill" tag, but the newest installment is titled "Silent Hills," which begs the question on how expansive the new world will be.

Silent Hill is a successful series, despite a few installments which received less favorable reviews. The game was ported across the platforms, even on portable consoles. The new Silent Hill game's release date and specs are yet to be determined, but fans are already foaming at the mouth for updates.

The combined storytelling talents of Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro should make for a very interesting game, given the latter's knack for creating dense, vivid worlds. Console fans have something to look forward to, and anticipation for a new Silent Hill game in 2014 should fill in the void left in the wake of June's E3 (businessinsider.com).
