The Mortal Kombat X release date was revealed at Gamescom 2014 if reports are to be believed.

Cyberland has reported that the Mortal Kombat X release date was confirmed at Gamescom 2014 and that MKX would reportedly launch on March 2015.

In other news, these beloved characters could join the Mortal Kombat X Guest Characters roster if the reports are to be believed.

IGN website's YouTube channel has uploaded a video containing information on the possible guest characters that will join the roster of Mortal Kombat X.

The video mentioned that five characters are rumored to be a part of Mortal Kombat X and these are Pinhead from Hellraiser, Frank the Bunny from Donnie Darko, Spawn, Ash Williams of Evil Dead, and a Predator from Predator film franchise.

Twitter user @JordanFortiz tweeted a photo of Spawn to Ed Boon hinting that the Mortal Kombat creator might consider adding him into the roster.

Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon also teased fans that two iconic movie slashers Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees. Freddy Krueger was one of the guest characters in the previous Mortal Kombat game along with God of War protagonist Kratos.

"Friday the 13th," and its hockey masked Jason Vorhees. With the date just passing, fans were curious about the possibility of Crystal Lake's worst breast stroker featuring in the next MK title. "More likely than a DC Hero."

GAMENGUIDE reports that Ed Boon and NetherRealm Studios may consider adding Jason Voorhees of Friday the 13th in the game. But, the website later claimed that it won't happen due to the fact that Warner Bros. relinquished its rights to New Line Cinemas as Paramount Pictures started working on the next Friday the 13th movie.
