A Brittany Murphy biopic is confirmed for release this September, and people behind the Lifetime channel TV special allegedly did not consult the late actress' mom throughout the production.

According to a report from Daily Mail, the Brittany Murphy biopic will recall the late actress' rise to stardom, her career, and the circumstances of her unexpected death.

The Lifetime channel TV special will be titled "The Brittany Murphy Story" and will be the first time the late actress' life will be shared to the public in detail.

The biopic will feature 29-year-old actress Amanda Fuller as Brittany Murphy, who is most known for being cast in the 90s teen classic "Clueless" alongside Alicia Silverstone and Stacey Dash.

Brittany Murphy's other movies include "Girl, Interrupted" and "8 Mile".

Television veteran Sherylin Fenn will play the late star's mother Sharon Murphy.

A spokesperson has told The Hollywood Reporter that the real life Sharon Murphy was not consulted for the Brittany Murphy biopic and has not cooperated with the TV special's production.

Brittany Murphy was declared by the coroner to have died in December 2009 from pneumonia and other causes. Her husband, Simon Monjack, died just five months later of similar causes.

The 61-year-old Sharon Murphy hit out at claims made by Brittany's estranged father Angelo Bertolotti that her actress daughter and her husband Simon were poisoned to death nearly five years ago.

Brittany Murphy's mom insists that the said claims are "madness" and "lies".

"I have chosen to stay out of the limelight since the tragic and sudden death of my wonderful, talented, loving daughter," Sharon Murphy said.

"I have no choice now but to come forward in the face of inexcusable efforts to smear my daughter's memory by a man who may be her biological father, but was never a real father to her in her lifetime," Sharon Murphy adds.
