"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 2 cast Terry Crews is rumored to play Luke Cage, as former pro footballer Terrell Owens visits the precinct to play himself.
In a report by Digital Spy, "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" Season 2 cast Terry Crews said he would be all over Luke Cage if it's offered to him.
"I'm waiting for a call from Marvel, if I could and if it works into the schedule, and legally if it can be worked out-I'm booked for a while-I have to say it's something I would be privileged and honored to do," he said.
"To be honest, Luke Cage is up there with Superman for some people," he said. "Nicolas Cage named himself after Luke Cage. So it's one of those things I'm really, really glad that got the green light. Whoever plays it, I will be happy to see it," he added.
But Bustle said that "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 2 cast Terry Crews as Luke Cage would not be too old a superhero.
"There's no way Terry is 'too old' to play Luke Cage, because Luke has a long past before he becomes a 'Hero for Hire,'" it said, adding that the reported 13 episodes for Netflix would be too short to delve too much into the origins of the indestructible superhero.
"They will probably need to begin once Luke Cage has established himself as a for-pay superhero, meaning that Terry would be the perfect age," it said.
Meanwhile, Terrell Owens was reported to be included in the cast as himself as the New York Police Department and the Fire Department of New York prepare for a football game.
"He'll square off against Sgt. Terry Jeffords (former NFL linebacker Terry Crews) and the Nine-Nine precinct in another cop-versus-fireman football game," the Entertainment Weekly said.
