"Fifty Shades of Grey" movie cast Jamie Dornan has earned another fan in director Guy Ritchie who reportedly offered him the lead in his "King Arthur" film series. Meanwhile, the movie's screenwriter predicted an Oscar buzz for Christian Grey.
According to MailOnline, "Snatch" director Guy Ritchie hopes to snatch Jamie Dornan to play the King of Camelot in the Warner Bros. film after he was "blown away" after meeting the 32-year-old actor.
"Jamie is hot property in Hollywood. Guy was completely blown away when he met him and wanted to offer the part immediately," the source told the British tabloid.
But there's a snag as "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie cast Jamie Dornan is committed to the E.L. James' franchise.
"Jamie is keen on the role, too, and his US agents are keen to work out a deal where he'll be able to do both franchises. They have to convince Universal to allow Jamie to make the film with Warner Brothers, which isn't looking promising," the source added.
The British tabloid said that the Belfast-born Jamie Dornan wanted to play King Arthur so he won't be typecast in the role of Christian Grey, as The Sun newspaper source claimed, "Jamie is keen to take on other roles and prove that he's an adaptable actor. He fears the huge 'Fifty Shades' franchise will be all he's associated with."
Meanwhile, "The Fifty Shades of Grey" screenwriter Kelly Marcel said during a the Q&A session at "The Writer's Room" at DBA in Hollywood that the movie would be Jamie Dornan's coming out party as a serious actor.
"Apparently, Jamie is great at being soft and hard at the same time. Which is hard to do for an actor," he told E! News, as he added that Jamie Dornan is "going to get an Oscar!"
