A second Tony Stewart accident video is now in the hands of the authorities. It is being studied to know whether or not he should be filed with criminal charges.
Authorities are continuing the inquiry. Ontario County Sheriff Philip Povero said In a Daily Mail report that it may take two more weeks. "Investigators continue to seek witnesses, gather evidence and develop racetrack crash reconstruction."
People's opinions are divided. Many speculated that Stewart did it on purpose, basing on the videos posted online. The Hollywood Life reported that a fan with name 'King Joe Shearer' posted in Stewart's Facebook page and said, "Watch the video...you hear Stewart rev his engine...it looks like homicide."
But driver Cory Sparks, who was only a few cars behind him, said the videos do not show what really occurred. "People say that they heard the engine revs up and he gassed it. In a sprint car, the only way to steer is you steer with the rear wheels as much as you do the steering wheel. In my opinion, what he did was he gassed it to turn down away from him," he said in an interview with TWC News.
Paul Kinney, a fellow dirt-track racer, watched the video and told NBC News, "That's obviously not a racing incident. It's not a good idea to get out of your car and run towards other cars. But nobody can speak for Tony. Only Tony knows exactly what happened. I've seen Kevin clear as day. Nobody else ran into him, either."
Kevin Ward Sr. finally broke his silence. In the news by Fox Sports, he blamed Stewart for the death of his son during the race held at Canandaigua (N.Y.) Motorsports Park Saturday. "Apparently, Tony Stewart was the only one driving out there who didn't see him. The one person that knows what happened that night is possibly facing 10 years in prison. Is he going to say what he done?"
There were reports that the champion driver left his hometown in Columbus, Indiana.
