Henry Cavill News 2014: The "Man Of Steel" is reportedly "proud" to be an ambassador for the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust. According to BBC News, the Jersey native actor who is currently on a break from filming "Batman v Superman" said that he visited the wildlife park as a child and feels that it is close to his heart. The British actor seeing the "seemingly impossible" tasks that the trust staff does said he was humbled to help.
"I'm enormously proud to be part of a team that makes such a huge positive impact on the world...Durrell is an organisation with a mission I can really get behind. I feel that saving the diversity of life on our planet will be seen as increasingly important in the not-too-distant future. I genuinely believe that Durrell provide hope for those endangered animals that others may have given up on already. They 'do the seemingly impossible'; I would be truly humbled if I help to make that possible. What they do is close to my heart and something that deserves close attention. I feel that saving the diversity of life on our planet will be seen as increasingly important in the not-too-distant future," Cavill said.
Reportedly, Durrell was founded as a conservation charity over 50 years ago by author and naturalist Gerald Durrell. Lee Durrell, honorary trust director and wife of the late Gerald Durrell, expressed her delight at Cavill's support.
"Often our field teams are required to perform almost superhuman feats in their attempts to halt the decline of some of the world's most endangered species and their habitats," she said.
"Superman" plans to visit some of the charity's 50 field programmes around the world as an ambassador for Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust.
Reportedly, Cavill has found the time to work on his conservationist endeavours before he will join Ben Affleck on the Detroit set of Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice.
