Which Nokia smartphone is the ideal purchase for consumers? We pit the Lumia 520 or the Lumia 530 to see which is better.

In terms of design and display, both smartphones have exactly the same display size of 4.0 inch, but with different pixel density and resolution of the screen. The Lumia 530 has a 480×874 pixels resolution while the Lumia 520 has a 480×800 pixels screen. Further more, the pixel density of the Lumia 530 is at 245 ppi, while the Lumia 520 has 233 ppi.

The Lumia 520 has a sharp angular edges made of plastic, which were changed in rounded corners for the newest phone, however both are very similar. For battery and camera specs, both smartphones perform exactly the same 5 MP back facing cameras with no flash LED. Moreover, both have no secondary camera units and they are backed by li-Ion 1430mAh battery units.

Nokia Lumia 520 cost $103 in amazon.com, while the Nokia Lumia 530 will be released this month at a price of about $113.
