Tim Sherwood has recently admitted that he refused to take the chance offered to him to return to management with West Brom earlier in the summer. Despite signing an 18-month contract at White Hart Lane in December of 2013, Sherwood lost his position in Tottenham last May as head coach.

He was about to join West Brom but conflict regarding the agreement in terms rose. However, the 45-year-old is still looking forward to return to management when the right time and opportunity comes along.

"I think it's a very good club. I had two very long meetings with them and they offered me the position there as manager," Sherwood told The Fantasy Football Club.

"We carried on the discussions, personal terms and a little bit about who they may be bringing in. In the end, we decided it wasn't going to be right.

"In the game I have always been told, 'if in doubt, leave it out' and there was too much doubt there for me. I decided, at this stage, the West Brom job wasn't the right one for me."

Sherwood is still keen to going back and managing clubs again, although he admitted that there is quite a heavy competition for the job. As of now, he is in charge of Spurs on a caretaker and then permanent basis after the departure of Andre Villas-Boas.

He said that there are a lot of good managers in the industry which makes the competition quite stiff and these managers, including him, are on the run looking for jobs.

"Nothing has cropped up at the moment which I feel is right for me."
