Striker Sergio Aguero has signed a new deal good for five years as confirmed by Manchester City. The Argentine athlete have committed to the Premier League champions until the end of the season on 2018-19 following City's captain Vincent Kompany's new five-year deal with the Club.

Aguero was happy to have his future set before the start of the new season. Just as well, he is pleased to have the rumors of him moving to La Liga put to rest. "The reality seems to be that ever since I came here, during every close season, there have always been rumors suggesting that I might be returning to Spain." He told the club's official website.

"There has always been this speculation but I certainly never pay much attention to it.

"People hear this stuff flying around and they take it seriously but I can tell the fans and everyone at City to relax, I'm going to be here until I see out my contract.

"Each year, I aim to better the previous one. Last season was incredible but I'm not just satisfied with two Premier League titles, I want more and I can achieve them here alongside my teammates."

Aguero expressed his delight on being a part of the club. He said that for him, City is very special in every aspect-from the fans, to the stadium, the staff, the atmosphere, up to the new facility they are moving in to.

"We have enjoyed lots of success and some incredible moments but the overall vision for the future and where we are going are the reasons why I wanted to stay here, to win trophies and to keep making history through my best years."

Aguero was able to win the hearts of the City fans when he joined from Atletico Madrid in 2011 after he scored 30 goals in all competition during his first season.

The most memorable strike he scored was against QPR in final game of the 2011-12 season that took the Premier League title away from the City Rivals Manchester United.

He missed a portion of the latter part of the last season due to injury, but he was able to recover in time to be named in Argentina's squad for the World Cup finals in Brazil.
