Blake Shelton polishes his plans to get back on his winning streak for 'The Voice' season 7. He had been winning for several years, and hoped to win last season until Usher bagged the bragging rights from him.
The country superstar has asked country group Little Big Town this time to help him bring out his singers' best performances and skills.
Although he conceded to Usher for Will Champlin's win last season, he is more than ready to take home first place this year. He will be facing off with old and new rivals-an old friend, Adam Levine and new coaches Pharell Williams and Gwen Stefani.
"I mean, let's not beat around the bush. I am looking forward to mopping the floor with the other three coaches' asses," Shelton told Yahoo News in July.
It looks like he isn't the only one that's taking winning to heart. Levine brought in a legend, Stevie Nicks, to help him advise his 12 finalists on the show. Gwen Stefani thought it would be best to bring in her very talented husband, Gavin Rossdale, as well.
Pharell Williams, isn't taking this competition lightly either. He's brought along the acclaimed crooner, Alicia Keys to assist him improve his own set of contestants.
Despite his competitive spirit, Shelton admits that he and the new additions to 'The Voice' season 7 are getting along quite well.
Pharell balances out the four of them with his relaxed nature and reportedly talked some hysterical rejected contestants off the ledge. He particularly likes how Stefani doesn't get riled up with some of his more outrageous comments.
"[Gwen] is not like any other girl I have ever been around," the country royalty said about the new female coach. "She is just one of the guys. There [are] times I say something that maybe something you may not want to say around a girl, and [it] doesn't phase her."
He went on to say that past female coaches didn't always like his sense of humor, adding that "with Christina [Aguilera] and Shakira, there were times when I offended them."
"I admit it, I admit... d*mn it!" The award winning country singer confessed when asked if he did offend his other coaches. "I have yet to offend Gwen though."
Curious as to how Blake Shelton will dominate 'The Voice' season 7? The show's will come back to NBC on September 22 later this year.
