There's a hint of how the Samsung Galaxy S6 vs iPhone 6 specs battle will turn out, with the release of the Samsung Galaxy Alpha and Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

The actual Samsung Galaxy S6 vs iPhone 6 battle will have to wait; in the meantime, Samsung plans to meet the release of Apple's next flagship device with the Samsung Galaxy Alpha, confirmed for a fourth quarter release.

Apple's iPhone 6 is reported to be released next month, with the new iOS 8 installed. Competitors LG and Samsung released their next-gen smartphones in recent months, with the latter upgrading and re-releasing its Galaxy S5.

The Samsung Galaxy Alpha is a slight departure from the trademark design, though. For the first time, the Galaxy phone features a metal casing. Some users have complained the plastic build of the Galaxy downplays its topnotch specs.

The latest rumor hints the Alpha is the start of a new trend in Samsung design. The Samsung Galaxy S6 features are still wildly speculated, but Senior VP of Product Management Yoon Han-kil hinted of this in April. The Samsung Galaxy S6 vs iPhone 6 feature fight should be interesting.

Yoon Han-kil: "Our ultimate goal is to make products that consumers really aspire to have. This is how we are trying to find a breakthrough in the stagnant premium market." Han-kil says the production of future devices will feature an "all-new form factor."

An official Samsung Galaxy S6 reveal will have to wait until 2015, but the Samsung Galaxy Note 4's striking feature should hint of the shape of things to come. Aside from a 5.7-inch display, Snapdragon 805 processor, and 4GB RAM, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 vs iPhone 6 (5.5-inch) unveils almost at the same time, both encased in metallic frame.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is expected to unveil in a few weeks at the IFA 2014 Unpacked; the Samsung Galaxy S6 vs iPhone 6 battle will just have to wait (source: trustedreviews.com).
