The future of filmdom has space reserved for the splashing entrance of "Aquaman: The King of Atlantis" with Jason Momoa in the titular role. The marine superhero bulks up and gets an image overhaul as he rides the waves in his scheduled appearance in "Batman Vs. Superman" plus his own "Aquaman" movie spinoff.

Huff Post Entertainment has confirmed that Jason Momoa, who never said so much as a word about his upcoming superhero stint, will be playing the role of " Aquaman: The King of Atlantis" in "Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice."

Jason Momoa, a Honolulu native who grew up in Iowa but later on moved back to Hawaii when he matured, actually denied being cast for the role of "Aquaman: The King of Atlantis" in his interview with Honolulu- based radio station KITV4. However, the HitFix article in Variety, as reported by Huff Post Entertainment strongly opined that the role of the underwater king would be his.

As it turned out, Warner Bros. has much better plans for "Aquaman: The King of Atlantis" besides a supporting role at Batman vs. Superman movie. Hollywood Reporter, as relayed by Hollywood Life, said that the film outfit is developing a solo movie for the superhero, with Jason, who is popularly known to "Games of Thrones" fans as Khal Drogo, in the titular role.

Unusually, though, Entertainment Weekly has reported that Warner Bros. is working on two different versions of the movie. The Hollywood Reporter, as relayed by Entertainment Weekly, revealed that the film outfit has hired two screenwriters Kurt Johnstad and Will Beal to develop two disparate screenplays for the "King of Atlantis."

Beal, who has a penchant for incorporating snappy conversations in his scripts, has written the "Gangster Squad" and some episodes of "Castle." According to Entertainment Weekly, he also penned a script version for the "Justice League" film prior to the film outfit's decision to make it the follow-up to the "Batman" reload.

Johnstad, on the other hand, has worked on the two "300" films that are both directed by Zack Snyder of the "Man of Steel."

Despite the news of the two scripts being developed for "Aquaman," no word yet on how Warner Bros. will fit the film in the overall DC universe.
