The Witcher 3 release date favors the Xbox One, with exclusives bundled in.
The Witcher 3 release date is stuck to February next year; this doesn't stop Bandai Namco from feeding expectation of console gamers, though, releasing content bundled in when the game launches.
The bad news is for PlayStation 4 and PC fans, as The Witcher 3 Collector's Edition releases exclusively for the Xbox One. The bundle comes with physical content, including a cloth map and two Gwent card decks. The latter is a hardcopy version of what's available in-game.
CD Projekt Red maintains close supervision of development, and apparently of the game's marketing strategy as well. Co-founder Marcin Iwiñski confirms: "Gwent is an amazing game and we're really happy to be able to bring it to the physical realm with Microsoft's help. Now we've got Gwent in every copy of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt as an in-game experience for free on every platform, and a physical version in the Xbox One CE, how awesome is that?"
The Witcher 3 release date should be more exciting for Xbox One owners, with a real card game to break in the middle (or after) of exhausting the Action Adventure's expansive gameplay.
The Xbox One Collector's edition offers plenty of treats, enough to turn PS4 and PC fans green with envy:
"The standard edition of the game, containing: the official soundtrack, a beautiful and detailed map of the in-game world, unique stickers, and the developer-created "Witcher Universe - The Compendium"
A giant, 33x24x26 cm, 100% hand painted, Polystone figure of Geralt of Rivia battling a Griffin
An exclusive, collector grade Witcher medallion
A one of a kind SteelBook
A two-hundred page artbook, containing breathtaking art from the game
A cloth map of the game world
Two Gwent card decks
Huge outer and inner Collector's Boxes you can store your Witcher merchandise in!" (source: videogamer.com)
