Henry Cavill girlfriend Gina Carano's possible bout with Ronda Rousey is still on the rounds. Recent reports say that the title match up might have a little chance or possibility. According to Bleacher Report, another rumor of Carano joining Bellator MMA is circulating. Reportedly, Mookie Alexander of Bloody Elbow said that "Bellator had come to terms with 'Conviction' and were planning to announce their deal on Tuesday and that she would face former Strikeforce women's bantamweight champion Marloes Coenen." However it has been quashed by sources.
This talk came in as a surprise since the anticipated fight between Carano and the UFC women's bantamweight champion remains one of the biggest fights the UFC is capable of putting together. Bleacher Report noted that UFC is right to try to "make this fight happen" for it will do "more good than harm."
There's no official announcement that affirms or denies the rumors yet. But according to Ariel Helwani of the site MMA Fighting, sources close to the situation believes that "Gina Carano signing with Bellator rumors are not true."
Meanwhile, according to Inside Fights UFC President Dana White says that "there's nothing new" with the negotiations with Carano. His previous confidence in dealing with the now-silverscreen-star turned to comments like "negotiations with her have grown complicated."
According to reports Rousey publicly asserts that a bout with Carano is "something that she has wanted since the first time she laid eyes on the sport." While Carano has not fought for almost five years, a match with her might be intriguing since she has proven herself as a solid fighter with her 7-1 run.
Carano faced tough veterans like Rosi Sexton, Kaitlin Young, Tonya Evinger and Julie Kedzie in the cage where she dominated. She only had a single loss to "Cyborg" Justino in August 2009.
The 2009 loss seemingly marked the end of Carno's MMA career. Since then she began receiving work in Hollywood.
