RWBY coming to Japan!
RWBY is an American animated web series created by Monty Oum for Rooster Teeth Productions. The plot is set in the fictional world of Remnant, which is filled with supernatural forces (thanks Wikipedia). Now, the animated series is said to be on the way on new direction.
Adweek said that the multi-channel network announced that its Japanese-style cartoon will be exported by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Japan to that country. However, the source didn't mention if the Japanese-style cartoon is season 2 or volume 2. CEO of Rooster Matt Hullum stated:
"This is the first time any American-made anime has been marketed to Japan. It definitely usually works the other way around, and we're really pleased about that,".
The RWBY series will be dubbed for the market and will released in the region on Blu-ray and DVD in 2015. Additionally, Home Entertainment Japan got the licensed merchandising rights.
English-language episodes of RWBY is about four schoolgirls who train to be monster slayers at Beacon Academy. Reportedly, the said episodes have been viewed almost 61 million times on Blip, YouTube and Crunchyroll.
The reported numbers of views are only for 16-episode first season and character trailers. The weekly series began season two on July 24.
