Keith Millen admitted he has no allegation with being caretaker boss at Crystal Palace as he takes over Pulis' post, but he expects that the board will step up to their manager hunt as soon as possible.

Palace is currently limping over the departure of Tony Pulis two days before the new Premier League season started. In lieu with this, Millen was handed the position which he had already done in the past.

His side showed a positive performance during the match against Arsenal, but ended up losing 2-1 dramatically.

Palace has a week to prepare for their next game against another capital foe-West Ham United. Millen is however hesitant to be still in charge when the match approaches.

"I think the chairman will be keen to get a new manager in as soon as possible.

"The lads have been great again for us today and I'm very proud of them."

Millen also admitted that the crisis they are going through right now is hard for the players and losing a game they have really put an effort to is quite tough to take. Nevertheless, he does not want the circumstances in a difficult week they have went through to be an excuse for not performing well.

"We were ready, we were organized. I think the biggest disappointment was the manner of the goals.

"We pride ourselves on being strong from set-pieces. With the play that Arsenal had, and they had a lot, from open play they had a few shots but nothing major.

"We were delighted with our shape but to concede the two goals from set-pieces, that's the hardest thing and the most disappointing thing."
